A factual look at data

Your workspace.
Clear boundaries.

Website, desktop app, and AI providers are different parts of the picture.

This website

The website serves static pages and product media. The example sessions are fictional. It does not read local files, inspect installed agents, connect to a desktop service, or run terminal commands. The interactive sample keeps its state and typed prompts in memory. Its coding replies are scripted; prompts are not sent to an AI service and reset when you reload.

No account form, contact form, advertising pixel, session replay, analytics provider, or browser storage is configured. The hosting and download providers will receive ordinary web requests, which may include an IP address and request metadata. Netlify hosts the website and GitHub hosts the Windows release files. Their logging and retention follow their own policies: Netlify privacy and GitHub privacy.

The desktop app

Buddy stores settings, workspace layouts, and catalog information in its local Windows application-data folder. It reads supported local Claude and Codex histories and skill files from their configured directories to populate the catalog.

Terminal input is sent to the local shell or agent you started. Linked saved-chat renames can write Claude history metadata or call Codex's local metadata interface. The inspected app contains no first-party analytics service or cloud-sync feature.

Your chosen AI tools

Claude Code, Codex, custom assistants, plugins, and tools have separate authentication and data handling. They may send prompts, project content, tool inputs, or other information to their providers according to your choices and their policies. Local organization in Buddy does not mean that no data leaves your computer.

External links and downloads

Following an agent setup, support, or public download link sends you to that provider. A website download click cannot confirm that an application was installed. Signature status refers to the installer, independently of the website's HTTPS connection.
